Ed Hisscock is a healthcare leadership contractor with more than 20 years of supply chain and information technology experience. He has worked for Fortune 50 companies, healthcare suppliers and healthcare provider organizations. Ed has personally served more than 100 healthcare provider organizations in the U.S. and Europe.
Prior to co-founding Optimé Supply Chain, Ed founded and spent eight years growing Appleseed Healthcare Resources, a consultancy specializing in lowering the cost of delivering care through education, leadership development and placing interim leadership.
Ed also held several key supply chain positions in both the corporate and hospital settings for Trinity Health, one of the largest health systems in the U.S. At the corporate office he was responsible for leading the development and implementation of an enterprise-wide supply chain IT and content management strategy, and played a key role in the design and development of a corporate supply chain management organization, which was accountable for a three-year, $110 million expense reduction. In the hospital setting, he led a materials management reengineering effort focused on eliminating work waste and growing the supply chain practitioner’s capabilities.
Ed also spent 12 years at Baxter Healthcare, where he piloted a new services venture in contract materials management and consultation, led one of their regional distribution centers through the deployment of an automation initiative, and facilitated many change management, product management and educational events.
Ed holds an electronics engineering degree in from the Ohio Institute of Technology, a bachelor’s degree in behavioral science from National Lewis University and a master’s degree in supply chain logistics from Michigan State University.
