Shoaib Abbasi has more than two decades of management consulting and software design experience. He has led enterprise strategy, supply chain optimization, strategic sourcing and optimization projects for clients such as U.S. Steel, Weyerhaeuser, Newsweek, Elkay, Elf Atochem and Kraft. He has also led human capital optimization projects at Mt. Sinai Hospital and Medical Center, Chicago Osteopathic Hospital and Medical Center, Grant Hospital of Chicago and Dameron Hospital.
Prior to co-founding Optimé, Shoaib founded Strategic Systems International (SSI) and has directed the company since its inception in 1991. Shoaib has fostered a customer-centric and excellence-seeking culture at SSI, helping to create engagement models that are the foundation of long-term customer partnerships.
Shoaib is a technology innovator; his expertise in mathematical optimization, analytics, and software design has enabled SSI to create and deliver truly innovative solutions and services to customers across several industries. Shoaib pioneered SSI’s corporate venturing approach through which SSI partners with experienced industry veterans and technology firms to pioneer new business models and deliver software-as-a-service to target market segments.
Prior to founding SSI, Shoaib was director of applications development for General Optimization, Inc., where he developed decision-support systems for the healthcare, transportation, financial services and manufacturing industries. He has consulted for public and private sector clients covering business strategy, planning and operational improvement.
Shoaib earned a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Chicago and master’s and bachelor’s degrees in operations research and industrial engineering from Cornell University.
